About
Berivan Çevik (b. 1995, Istanbul) completed her education at the Department of Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, Munzur University, graduating at the top of her class.
Her artistic practice explores the relationship between space, the figure, and memory. In her work, she treats space as a carrier of cultural memory, belief, and personal experience, interpreting spatial traces specific to the geography of Tunceli and the Alevi belief system through an intuitive and layered narrative.
The female figure also constitutes a significant focal point of her work. Particularly in her recent pieces, she establishes an emotional connection between the figure and the atmosphere by addressing women's inner worlds through themes of melancholy, silence, and everyday life experiences. Employing a combination of canvas and digital production techniques, the artist aims to create transitions between traditional painting and the possibilities of digital expression.
She has created book cover designs based on digital transformations of her works on canvas; these designs have been published and featured across various platforms.
She continues her independent artistic practice, developing new forms of expression at the intersection of the figure, space, and cultural memory.
